The Faith and Belief Forum (FBF) contacted us in November 2020, seeking to appoint 3 Senior Management roles that would support the CEO in the running, and future growth of the organisation.

The roles – Head of Fundraising, Head of Programmes, and Head of Operations.

These were critical hires for FBF, roles that would play a key part in shaping the future direction of the organisation. They were also all part time positions and we were instructed to undertake positive action through each of the recruitment processes to ensure the organisation reached as diverse audience as possible.

Positive Action

In order to address representation issues within the organisation each of the roles had a shortlisting target attached to it, whereby to progress to interview stage the shortlist needed to be at least: 50% female, 40% candidates from a BAME background and 50% of candidates from a non-Christian background. Following three separate diversity specific searches, all of these targets were reached for each of the roles.

The Longlisted candidates

Female – 70%

BAME – 46%

Non-Christian – 80%

Timing and Outcomes

All three roles went live in December, our search time varied from 3-5 weeks and interviews took place across 3 weeks in January. All three roles were appointed successfully in February 2021.
