Episode Synopsis:

Tiku and Sharon share details of their new partnership, Stronger Starts, a wonderful new addition to Charity People’s CEO recruitment process.

Charities invest enormous energy in recruiting the right CEO, yet far less attention is often given to what happens once the appointment is made. In this episode, Sharon Davies, former charity CEO and founder of Good Place Co, explores why the first 60 days of a leader’s tenure can shape long-term success and where transitions most often go wrong. She introduces Stronger Starts, a partnership with Charity People that provides a structured approach to help Chairs, boards and incoming CEOs align expectations, surface risks early and focus on what matters most. At its best, onboarding becomes leadership infrastructure , a practical investment in enabling a new leader to land well and the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Sharon Davies Bio – Founder, Good Place Co

Sharon Davies is the founder of Good Place Co, a consultancy dedicated to strengthening organisational impact by building the capacity, confidence and sustainability of the people who lead.

With 30 years’ experience working alongside young people and communities, and over 15 years in senior charity leadership, including five years as CEO of a national education charity. Sharon brings a rare blend of strategic rigour and lived leadership experience. She understands first-hand the pressures organisations and leaders face, particularly during periods of transition, growth and uncertainty.

Good Place Co partners with boards and senior leaders to design leadership capacity systems that work in real life, enabling leaders to build strong teams, make better decisions under pressure and lead sustainably over time.

Equity sits at the heart of Good Place Co’s practice, including equity-based pricing and a commitment to dedicating at least 10% of time to pro bono support for leaders who might not otherwise have access to high-quality leadership support.
