Ross joined Charity People in 2026 as Business Director in our Board and Leadership Practice. He brings 20 years of international experience across executive recruitment, leadership coaching, strategic advisory and entrepreneurship, particularly within the environment, sustainability and future energy.
Ross understands that successful senior appointments depend on more than experience alone. He takes time to understand each organisation’s purpose, culture, and ambitions, and creates a thoughtful, inclusive process where candidates feel respected and can show what they can bring.
In 2006, Ross co-founded B Corp Six Degree People, one of the world’s first executive search firms dedicated to sustainable business. Over 12 years, the firm developed a leadership network spanning 56 countries and worked with organisations including WWF, The Climate Group and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
More recently, Ross led Down to Earth, growing the nature-based regeneration organisation from an allotment into a multi-award-winning, six-figure social enterprise. This gives him first-hand insight into leading through growth, balancing purpose with financial sustainability and building organisations around their communities.
Ross is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Nottingham University Business School and sits on two economic development boards in Derby. He lives in the Peak District, where he enjoys long dog walks, attempting multiple sports and exploring great design.
