We are excited to be working with ENT UK, the professional membership body representing ear nose and throat surgery.

Based near Holborn tube within the Royal College of Surgeons offices, ENT UK are recruiting a new Communications Manager.

ENT UK has been prominent in the news for its leading role in identifying the link between anosmia (loss of sense of smell) and COVID-19. They also recently won the Association Excellence Award for Best Membership Support During COVID-19, and this year, shortlisted for the Best Association Newsletter and Best Digital Transformation.

As Communications Manager you will lead on the development and delivery of all ENT UK strategic communications to help deliver the vision in the new and exciting ENT UK strategy.

You will deliver strategic communications activity to improve membership engagement and drive growth. You will also play an important part in promoting the work of the ENT UK philanthropic arm, the ENT UK Foundation, and supporting its fundraising efforts.

The Communications Manager is also responsible for developing and overseeing their international conference communications strategy and involve working with Trustees, Executives and key communications project leads, who are mostly clinicians.

Duties include:

  • Leading the ENT UK Communications and Campaigns Working Group to deliver key communications activity on agreed campaigns (such as workforce challenges and waiting lists)
  • Promoting the work of the ENT UK Foundation and supporting its fundraising objectives.
  • Overseeing and maintaining the communications schedule for ENT UK and its Membership Groups and Special Interest Groups (engaging and exciting emails and social media activity), liaising with colleagues and planning communications with relevant stakeholders.
  • Producing, setting up and sending the ENT UK Newsletter every two weeks
  • Providing frequent copy, updates and written content on both a planned and ad hoc basis for the ENT UK website.
  • Drafting and sending press releases on key ENT UK activity.
  • Building strong relationships with media contacts to help us achieve our profile-raising objectives.
  • Working closely with the clinical project lead to coordinate, review and update all patient information leaflets.

Essential criteria:

  • Communications professional with experience of managing complex and multiple relationships.
  • Enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to implement an exciting new communications and engagement strategy.
  • Passionate about the opportunity to build the reputation and profile of ENT UK and its members.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of social media, from strategy to implementation.
  • Experience of Zoom, Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), content management systems and website management software.
  • Creative flair with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
