Hybrid working offered

Role Closing – 7th February 2024

Charity People are delighted to be working in partnership with Tommy’s to recruit a Database Officer. In what could be a career defining position, we are looking for someone to come in and assist with all aspects of data management and help grow Tommy’s business and achieve their goal of surpassing £10m in fundraising.

About the Charity
Tommy’s are a wonderful charity who help to save babies’ lives! They believe that pregnancy and baby loss should never be ‘just one of those things’ and that everyone deserves the same opportunities for a healthy pregnancy and birth.

They are committed to making their organisation a place where everyone is treated fairly, has the same opportunities, is supported to achieve their very best, and feels welcome, included, and part of the team. They are an evidence-driven, inclusive, collaborative, and a courageous organisation. They offer a range of benefits to their employees, including paid holiday, flex hours, sabbatical, social committee, career development, and a great pension scheme.

The Role
Tommy’s are looking to recruit a new Database Officer to join their growing team. You must have Raiser’s Edge experience for this role, but you will be fully supported to develop your CRM skills further. You will join a very happy team where staff retention is high and you are encouraged to fundraise and take part in the strong charity culture.

An exciting and varied role, your duties will involve:

  • Ensure data from third party suppliers is imported with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner. Examples of data sources include TPX (website), Enthuse, JustGiving, NatWest, payroll giving agencies and GoCardless.
  • Manually create and update records, when required.
  • Import and export data in and out of Raisers Edge with ImportOmatic..
  • Monitor JIRA Database support site and complete requests for database assistance.
  • Guide Raiser’s Edge NXT and Raiser’s Edge Database users in effectively using CRM to help deliver income targets.
  • Audit the import of data via automated import processes, identifying process failures and rectifying them.
  • Accurately enter and process all gifts (pledges, cash, cheques, direct debits, online giving) on Raiser’s Edge using import, batch, ImportOmatic
  • Ensure all recurring gifts and pledges are recorded and tracked accurately in Raiser’s Edge
  • Work closely with fundraisers across the organisation to ensure that gifts are coded on Raiser’s Edge correctly.
  • Ensure Gift Aid is correctly captured and processed, submitting monthly claims to HMRC in collaboration with Finance.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone with experience in a similar database support role within a charity fundraising department. You should have experienced Raiser’s Edge NXT and Raiser’s Edge Database user with database administration experience. Furthermore, you should have strong literacy and numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail.

This is a fantastic position in an award-winning Charity. Charity People are managing all applications for this role; interested applicants should send their CV to Ben Garner, Senior Consultant at Charity in the first instance.

Charity People actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion. We match charity needs with skills and experience of candidates, irrespective of age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.
