Charity People are proud to be partnering with Genetic Alliance UK, the largest alliance of organisations supporting people with genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions in the UK, to help bring on board a Director of Resources.

While individually rare, these conditions are collectively common and affect around 3.5 million people in the UK. Genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions are often life-limiting and life-threatening. People living with genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions and their families can face a lifetime of complex care. Genetic Alliance UK aim to influence the services needed by these patients, advocating for fast and accurate diagnosis, good quality care and access to the best treatments.

The Director of Resources will lead on transforming and professionalising Genetic Alliance UK’s corporate services including human resources, finance, policies and procedures, office and home working facilities and IT systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the external HR provider and introduce a new system for objective setting and personal development for all staff
  • Manage the external finance provider and ensure the successful integration of internal finance systems, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee an office move, review the home-working policy, and manage and support staff through change
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the new organisational strategy, annual business plan and annual budget as a member of the Senior Management Team
  • Project manage all projects associated with the transformation of corporate services and ensure they are delivered on time, to a high standard and within budget

The successful candidate will have experience of working in corporate services at a senior level with considerable knowledge and expertise in HR, finance, or IT. You will be a hands-on senior leader with experience working at a strategic level with a multi-disciplinary leadership team. You will be a role model for delivering to a high standard within the charity and will oversee change with a warm and positive approach, championing and communicating organisational change which is critical to the future of Genetic Alliance UK.
