Charity People are thrilled to be working in partnership with The Bow Foodbank Limited (BFBL), whose mission is to support those in financial crisis through provisions of food, essential items and free, confidential support.
Due to a year of tremendous growth because of the pandemic, this is a key moment to join BFBL in this new role as Executive Director. In previous years, BFBL have had a network of fantastic volunteers however due to growth of the organisation, they are now looking to introduce a staffing structure to work alongside their volunteers.
As the country emerges from lockdown, the charity needs to develop a new strategy to respond for the longer term to the needs of local people experiencing food poverty. As Executive Director, you will play a leading part in this vital work, and in the development and growth of the charity, by leading on the strategic development of the organisation and all Senior Management functions. This includes volunteer management and introducing a volunteer team structure, HR, developing a network of donors, overseeing fundraising, managing the communications strategy and engaging with the Board in the development of a new and effective staffing structure.
The ideal person for this role will have successful previous experience of operations in Senior Management roles within a charity, ideally focusing on unemployment, food poverty or mental health. Additionally, you will have experience of working with volunteers and have excellent fundraising skills, including bid writing and donor acquisition.
As well as being a strategic thinker and an effective networker, you will be committed to the goals, ethos and values of BFBL, and will advocate for equality and diversity within the organisation, developing their culture of inclusion.
This role is flexible with regards to hours, and are open to both part or full-time hours.
