We are seeking an outstanding and effective fundraiser and senior manager for this fantastic Head of Development role with the British Exploring Society.
British Exploring Society (BES) is a world class youth development charity with a unique heritage, founded on the belief that challenging experiences can define lives, empowering and equipping young people with the courage, integrity, skills, resilience and motivation to make the most of their future.
We prepare young people for expeditions to remote locations where they face challenges, acquire outdoor skills and learn about themselves – as well as undertaking projects with content relevant to their lives and to the fragile environments that they explore.
The results are transformative – not just in terms of practical skills and resilience, but in a new- found confidence and self-belief which they carry forward to their future life.
We are looking for an exceptional senior fundraiser to lead our small and successful development team. You will have a successful track record of growing income and building strong relationships with senior volunteers. You will consistently achieve your goals through being an effective communicator, through your professionalism, tact and diplomacy, harnessing your resourcefulness and creativity to meet the high targets you set for yourself and your team. You will have a friendly open manner, and a proven track record of success working with key decision makers and funders with an effortless ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
This is a truly unique and special opportunity, working with a highly engaged team and development board. If you are passionate about working with young people and love the idea of creating positive, life changing impact and opportunity through adventure, then we’d love to hear from you.
To apply, please share your CV with Philippa Randle at Charity People. If your profile fits what we’re looking for, we will be in touch with more details and to arrange a phone or video call.
Closing date for applications is midday on Wednesday 16th June.
