HR Administrator – The Social Mobility Foundation, London

Why is this role so special?
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right person. We are looking for an individual with a passion and talent for HR administration who can support the rapidly growing and developing team at an exciting time for The Social Mobility Foundation (SMF). We are seeking someone who is passionate about the work they do, shares their values, and can play a key role in helping build a strong team and culture. You will work as part of a small operations team but will build strong relationships across the whole organisation.

Place of work: London office, N1. Working from another SMF office is considered, but occasional visits to the London office and travel to external events, meetings and SMF regions would be required.
Salary: £21,500 with £2,000 London weighting if applicable
Reporting to: Finance and Operations Manager
Line Reports: None planned currently but potentially in the future
Contract and hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent contract. We would consider a 30 hour a week contract for the right candidate. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu will be given.

About the organisation:
The Social Mobility Foundation (SMF) is a charity which aims to make a practical improvement in social mobility for young people. The SMF was founded in 2005 in order to provide opportunities, and networks of support for 16 to 17 year olds who are unable to get them from their schools or families.
In the years that have followed, their students have experienced great success graduating from university into the professional world with many returning to support younger years.

About the role:
Recruitment & Induction
* Posting job adverts on appropriate websites
* Coordinating and scheduling interviews with relevant managers
* Informing applicants of their application outcome
* Taking of references for successful applicants
* Process the onboarding of new starters including overseeing collation of required documents and preparing contracts
* Coordinating new starters first week induction including, laptop issue, training set up and IT systems set up
General HR administration
* Coordinating leavers, including returning of equipment and handover of key information
* Administering training platform including issuing monthly completion updates
* Creating and amending any relevant HR documents
* Ensuring HR filing is up to date and secure
* Support the Head of Finance and Operations in the set-up of the new HR platform
* Supporting staff with hybrid working e.g. reviewing risk assessments/WFO requirements to ensure staff can work safely and effectively
* Supporting the administration of performance management process, including reminders of key dates and issuing resources
* Administrative support for the wellbeing initiatives of the SMF
* Administrative support for special HR projects, these might include initiatives like increasing retention, personal development or staff rewards package

About the person:
The successful candidate will have administration experience within HR and be invested in advancing social mobility and share their values: they are at the heart of all SMF does. You will be someone who delights in ensuring that their HR systems are maintained appropriately and views these systems as enabling SMF to continue to flourish. Attention to detail, discretion and effective communication skills are all critical to success in this role, as well as the ability to prioritise effectively and manage a varied workload.
