Charity People are so pleased to be working in partnership with Hackney Foodbank, who are looking for a new People and Training Manager to join their wonderful team.

Part of a network of food banks, Hackney Foodbank are an amazing organisation that aim to achieve no less than a hunger-free Hackney. They support people with emergency food parcels and connecting the community with local organisations who can help address the root causes of poverty in their lives.

Working closely with senior management, you will be responsible for the volunteering at the organisation, including recruitment, induction & development of all volunteers; ensuring a diverse set of volunteers who are aligned to the mission and vision of Hackney Foodbank. Other duties include establishing the effective use of a volunteer system.

Additionally, you will lead on all training and people development within the organisation, such as leading on the developing of an EDI strategy and wellbeing policy, as well as working closely with the CEO to implement development plans across the staff team.

The ideal person for this role will have significant experience of volunteer management and delivering training to new staff members, with the understanding of delivery of good beneficiary care. You will also have excellent organisational and communication skills, be flexible and able to work under own initiative. Previous experience of working within a food bank, and developing an EDI strategy would be desirable, however not essential.
