Together For Short Lives is a national charity making a real difference to seriously ill children and their families across the UK. They stand alongside families to provide them with the care and help they need to make the most of every moment together.

Charity People is excited to be leading the search for a skilled Philanthropy Manager to join this small but mighty charity. With an inspiring programme of projects to deliver, there is immense potential for growth in philanthropy.

Location: Bristol or home based with a quarterly presence in Bristol and for donor meetings where required

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 dependent on experience

Hours: 35 hours per week with some flexibility for the right candidate

About the role:

The Philanthropy Manger will help grow the philanthropy programme, playing a crucial role in the delivery of Together For Short Lives new ten-year vision and strategy – Making Every Moment Count; and they have big ambitions to raise more money for their mission and become a great fundraising organisation. The organisation already has award winning corporate and trust funding programmes and are looking to develop more substantial funding in both individual giving and philanthropy to deliver their ambitious plans. You’ll be working closely with the Director of Income Generation and Engagement and a VIP Relationship Consultant (who manages relationships with several donors and Patrons), to build on the existing programme and further develop the foundations for income generation.

About you:

We’re looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of securing high-value funding from major donors and/or corporate partners. We’d also be happy to consider candidates with transferable skills from other fundraising streams or the commercial sector.

Most importantly, you’re a ‘go getter’ and motivated individual, with the ability to build rapport and relationships with major donors at five figures+.

What your day to day will look and feel like:

  • Building and managing relationships with philanthropists.
  • Developing strategies to increase major gifts.
  • Playing a vital role in helping the department meet its KPIS and goals, while inspiring and cultivating long-term support.
