Are you an animal lover looking to use your professional skills in a unique and exciting way, working towards a better world for pets and the people who care for them?

You’ll receive a very warm welcome as Trustee on the Board of The Pets At Home Foundation. This is a volunteer position on a professional charity Board.

We know that pets touch the lives of many people, so we’re looking for new trustees with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to help strengthen the Board at this critical time, as they look towards future growth and development.

Location: HQ is Handforth, Cheshire but meetings can be attended online or in-person
Time Commitment: 5 meetings per year totalling 16 hours (not including meeting preparation)
Tenure: 2 years, reappointment by anonymous voting
Salary: Unremunerated with expenses paid

Established fifteen years ago, The Pets at Home Foundation has raised over £50 million through the support of Pets at Home store teams, customers and suppliers. These funds have made a significant difference to pets across the UK, supporting rescues in local communities and also supporting organisations that help people through pets.

With a dedicated team of pet-loving colleagues, trustees and supporters, the Foundation makes a real difference by:

* Supporting those in need through their grant programme.
* Finding rescue pets a forever, loving home, through adoption centres and community partners.
* Working with partners to make a positive impact in local communities.

About the role
As a Trustee, you’ll play an active role in charity governance and ensure the organisation acts with integrity, in accordance with its values and constitution.

You’ll help determine the overall direction and development of the charity through clear strategic planning, as well as promoting and developing ambition for growth.

By ensuring the charity is financially robust and sustainable, you’ll award funds in line with the published guidelines.

About you
We’re proactively looking for someone with charity sector experience, ideally bringing specialist skills in either grant-making or fundraising, operating at leadership level.

We’d also love to see you showcasing the following key elements:

* Ability to think and act strategically, turning strategy into reality.
* Inclusive mindset, actively seeking and valuing the difference perspectives of others.
* Commitment to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team.
* Time to commit to the role, including meeting attendance and preparation.

You definitely don’t need to have been a Trustee previously, but you will need to understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.

If you’re someone with a passion for pets and animal welfare, you’re going to find this role especially rewarding.

To apply, please send a copy of your profile or CV in the first instance to Amelia Lee at Charity People to receive a copy of the job pack and details on the application process.

Deadline: Friday 6th September
