Overview
In early 2026, Florence Nightingale Foundation, one of the UK’s most respected healthcare charities, embarked on a significant phase of digital transformation. Having stripped back a complex legacy Salesforce system, the organisation created a pivotal role to lead the rebuild and embed Salesforce as a strategic tool across the charity.Â
Charity People was appointed to manage the recruitment of a Salesforce CRM Manager, a role critical to improving efficiency, strengthening data integrity, and enabling the Foundation to maximise its impact in developing nursing and midwifery leadership.Â
Â
The Brief
This 12‑month fixed‑term role was designed to sit at the heart of the Foundation’s transformation programme. The Salesforce CRM Manager would:Â
- Take full ownership of the Salesforce Sales Cloud environment
- Lead system configuration, automation, and optimisation
- Ensure data integrity, GDPR compliance, and system health
- Manage relationships with external Salesforce consultants and suppliers
- Translate technical requirements into clear, practical solutions for non‑technical stakeholders
- Train and support staff to embed Salesforce into everyday practice
- Drive continuous improvement and support wider organisational change
The role required a rare blend of hands‑on Salesforce expertise, project and change management experience, and strong communication skills, alongside a clear alignment with the values of a mission‑led healthcare charity.Â
Â
Our Approach
Charity People delivered a focused, consultative recruitment campaign tailored to the organisation’s transformation goals. This included:Â
- Detailed briefing sessions to fully understand the Foundation’s digital ambitions, culture, and expectations for the roleÂ
- A compelling, insight‑led advert that positioned the opportunity as a chance to lead meaningful digital change rather than maintain a systemÂ
- Targeted search and outreach, engaging Salesforce professionals with strong technical capability and experience working with non‑technical stakeholdersÂ
- Clear, proactive communication with candidates throughout the process, including transparent timelines and regular updatesÂ
- In‑depth candidate support, offering detailed CV guidance and constructive interview feedback to ensure candidates were fully preparedÂ
This approach ensured a strong, diverse shortlist aligned not only on technical capability but also on mindset, communication style, and values.Â
Â
The Outcome
Charity People successfully supported Florence Nightingale Foundation in appointing a Salesforce professional with the skills and confidence to take ownership of the platform and lead the next phase of transformation.Â
The successful candidate is now:Â
- Driving improvements in Salesforce functionality and usabilityÂ
- Supporting staff to adopt and embed Salesforce more effectivelyÂ
- Strengthening data quality and reporting across the organisationÂ
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external consultants to deliver long‑term valueÂ
The appointment has positioned the Foundation to use its CRM as a true strategic asset, supporting efficiency, insight, and organisational impact.Â

Candidate Feedback
“I had a fantastic experience working with Neil. From the very beginning, his communication was clear, proactive, and consistent. He kept me informed at every stage of the process, so I always knew exactly where things stood. What really stood out was the level of detailed feedback he provided after interviews and on my CV. His insights were constructive, specific, and genuinely helpful. I felt he was invested in helping me succeed rather than just filling a role. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, communicative, and supportive recruitment partner.”
— Tina Owen, Salesforce AdministratorÂ

”Working with Neil on a recent round of recruitment was a pleasure. It was a new role for us, leading on a significant transformation project, and he really took the time to understand our needs and the broader context we were operating in. We were really pleased with the range of candidates he sourced for us and thrilled to appoint one of them to the role. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and will certainly look to work with him in the future.

”Neil is a proper recruitment consultant. He's excellent. He knows his stuff and has been my very first phone call for years now when I've needed to hire good data folk! He has consistently done a sterling job of finding great people for me. As an ex-recruiter myself, I get how the business works and therefore have a real appreciation of just how good Neil is at his job. To cap it all, he's a thoroughly decent bloke too. Need to fill a data role? Call him!

”Neil was great to work with at Charity People. As a director, he is approachable, open and has a genuine interest in people. He’s also an interesting person himself and always has a good story to share. One of the things that makes Charity People stand out, is the culture and Neil is the man behind that!
