Are you a strategic leader who believes every young person should have the opportunity to reach their potential?

Wirral Youth Zone, named “THE HIVE” by local young people, opened in April 2017. The Hive is an inspirational charity, employing exceptional youth workers and an army of volunteers. It changes the lives of thousands of young people each year, delivering social impact on an incredible scale.

The facilities are state-of-the-art and second to none, delivering over 20 sporting, artistic, cultural, and recreational activities each session when schools are closed (evenings and weekends), plus throughout the school holidays. The shiny building and facilities are the initial hook for young people, but the real magic happens inside with a fully-qualified, highly skilled youth work team who support and empower young people to overcome challenges and reach their potential.

Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Salary: £60-65k
Benefits: 33 days holiday including bank holidays; pension; access to Medicash, an employee assistance & wellbeing programme; free gym access; learning and development opportunities through the OnSide Talent Academy.

About the Role:
As Chief Executive, you’ll be responsible for a revenue budget of £1.25m per annum, working closely with the Trustee Board and Senior Leadership Team towards ongoing development and evolution of The Hive’s strategy and services. You’ll establish and lead through vision and deliver a robust funding plan alongside a talented Fundraising Director. You will inspire the team, helping them to be effective as individuals and a collective; supporting them to develop and deliver a wide range of innovative activities for the young people of the Wirral and surrounding areas.

About you:
We’re looking for someone who can provide clear leadership and inspiration to a talented team. You’ll be strategic as well as hands-on, able to influence effectively at the most senior levels and get to grips with the finer detail.

Ideally, you’ll have significant leadership experience in a service delivery charity – although that doesn’t necessarily need to be working with young people. Experience working with commissioners and commissioned services would be highly desirable, but not essential.

Most importantly you’ll have a genuine passion and commitment to improving the lives of young people.

To apply, please send a copy of your profile or CV to Amelia Lee at Charity People in the first instance.
