Are you a strategic senior leader who believes every young person should have the chance to reach their potential?
OnSide believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their passion and purpose. They’re a national charity that fund and build state-of the art, multimillion-pound Youth Zones in the country’s most disadvantaged areas. Preston Youth Zone will join 14 other Youth Zones as part of the OnSide Network, with building due to be completed in early 2025.
Young people in Preston face a number of stark challenges and barriers to participation, including struggles with their physical and mental health, and low levels of self-belief. Backed by Preston city council with an agenda to level the playing field and an army of founder patrons, Preston Youth Zone will play an important role as a community asset, giving young people an environment where they’re backed to be their best selves.
Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Salary: Circa £60,000 (dependent on experience)
Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays; free gym access (once the Youth Zone has opened); access to OnSide’s Talent Academy; bespoke training and mentoring.
About the Role:
As Chief Executive, you’ll be responsible for a revenue budget of £1.5m per annum. Pre-opening, you will have a four-month placement, touring and observing other Chief Executives, their teams and the Youth Zones. Over the first three months, you’ll have a Network Chief Executive peer group and buddy.
You’ll work closely with the Trustee Board and Senior Leadership Team towards ongoing development and evolution of the Youth Zone’s strategy and services. You will deliver a robust funding plan, which will enable the Youth Zone to operate with an appropriate level of reserves. You will inspire the team, helping them to be effective as individuals and a collective; supporting them to develop and deliver a wide range of innovative activities for the young people of the Preston and surrounding areas.
About you:
This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is looking for the next step in their career or for an experienced Chief Executive to take on a new challenge building a charity from the ground up. We’re looking for someone who can provide clear leadership and inspiration to a talented team. You’ll be strategic as well as hands-on, able to influence effectively at the most senior levels and get to grips with the finer detail.
You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to lead effectively across service delivery and income generation, with a robust oversight of governance and finance.
Most importantly you’ll have a genuine passion and commitment to improving the lives of young people.
To apply, please send a copy of your profile or CV in the first instance to Amelia Lee at Charity People.
