AKT is an incredible charity that provides safe homes, mentoring and support to ensure that no LGBTQ young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. They are the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. Founded in 1989 the charity operates service centres in major cities in the UK to provide support to over 2,000 vulnerable young people a year and in 2012, AKT opened the UK’s first emergency safe house for young LGBTQ people in the UK.

Charity People are excited to be recruiting for a Fundraising Manager (Acquisition and Community giving) to join the Fundraising Team at AKT who has seen a sharp increase in income and profile over the last few years.

The Fundraising Manager will lead the creation and delivery of multi-channel acquisition programmes to inspire and influence new audiences and develop innovative and creative community giving programmes. This post will be focusing on managing the development and successful delivery of campaigns and products. You will be engaging with donors, fundraisers and volunteers to maximise income. You will also manage the development of primary digital acquisition strategies and campaigns for varied audiences and giving mechanisms.

Working with team members across the charity to form and maximise relationships with supporters you must have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, excellent networking skills, and experience in managing direct marketing and/or online fundraising campaigns. We are particularly seeking someone ambitious and driven who has experience in raising funds from mass audiences to deliver income growth and set financial targets.

The ability to develop strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential to the role, as well as the enthusiasm and motivation to fundraise. If you are an enthusiastic, passionate individual, who has an understanding and appreciation of promoting and championing diversity, and would fit in with a friendly, innovative and collaborative team then get in touch for further information by reaching out with your up-to-date CV.

Closing date – Monday June 28th at 9:00am

We actively encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic groups, transgendered identities and disability groups who are currently under-represented within AKT to apply.

Charity People actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion. We match charity needs with skills and experience of candidates, irrespective of age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater results for the charities we work with.
