About the charity
British Exploring Society (BES) is a world class youth development charity with a unique heritage, founded on the belief that challenging experiences can change lives, empowering and equipping young people with the courage, integrity, skills, resilience and motivation to make the most of their future.
They prepare young people for expeditions to remote locations where they face challenges, acquire outdoor skills and learn about themselves – as well as undertaking projects with content relevant to their lives and to the fragile environments that they explore. The results are transformative – not just in terms of practical skills and resilience, but in a new-found confidence and self-belief which they carry forward to their future life.
About the role
We are looking for an able, ambitious and engaging Trust and Foundations Fundraiser with real insight, and a flair for compelling bid writing.
In the role, you will need to produce high quality creative and effective proposals/applications to trust funding bodies in line with the strategy and in keeping with the brand and core values. We are seeking a motivated fundraiser to actively develop and maintain excellent relationships with funding bodies at both Executive and Trustee level, planning and delivering appropriate engagement opportunities and meetings as appropriate.
Ideally, you will have experience applying to a range of trusts or other grant giving bodies with the potential to give five and six figure grants; securing multi-year grants, as well as one-off gifts to agreed targets. Lastly, meet or exceed income targets for trust and other grant income for both restricted and unrestricted income as agreed.
This is a fantastic role with a great charity, it’s a rare opportunity which we would love to discuss. To find out more and apply, please contact Stuart Milliner at Charity People.
